SYTYCD 10 Auditions LA/ Austin? May 21, 2013

Guest judge: Jesse Tyler Ferguson...so as you know I'm excited!

Nicholas "Slick" Stewart- ugh, this style creeps me out so bad! JTF's facial expression and vocal reactions the whole time are enough...exactly how I felt.

Alex Kessinger- I think she's a little different than most of the girls that make it on the show, but she is still technically really good which can be the winning combination.

Sebastian Serra- DANG! Just start off huge right away.

Emilio "Millie" Dosal- the "fake" injury scared the crap out of me!

Makenzie Dustman- brilliant choice of music. She's fantastic.

New Guest Judge: Minnie Driver (Austin)

OMW THIS LITTLE KID IS KILLING ME! "Are you married" "NOOOOOOOOO"
he got sent to DISNEY!? Haha awesome!

Hayley Erbert- Favorite of the night so far! I'm lost to why she thinks her dance is perceived as sexy? Beautiful extensions.

Donovan Gibbs- taking a song Christopher Scott choreographed too is brave.  He held his own.

Shane Garcia- I like his music choice. I hate bone breaking. He is good at it though. What a magical moment. Minnie Driver has quite the way with words.

Daniela Bustillos- she doesn't have as much umph as other dancers, but something about her resonates with me.

Nick Muckleroy- powerhouse.

Hampton Williams-exorcist dance- ya'll know I hate this, but this was soooooo planned this, you can totally tell it's choreographed.  The little girl is the only hope in the piece. But this style is just the epitome of creepy.

Who was your favorite of the night? How to you feel about the "exorcist?"

SYTYCD10 Audtions Detroit May 15, 2013

Guest judge: tWitch!

Jade Zuberi- this guy is crazy. I can't even fathom being able to do that. Twitch's "hoots" are hilarious.

Amy Yakima-Dad jazz..haha! I really enjoyed her, and her dad crying in the audience is so sweet. You can tell he loves his baby girl. She is fantastic!

Morgan "Mo" WIlliams- "My abs are better than Twitches." Probably shouldn't put down someone that is judging you. His height is outstanding.

Will "Sysko" Green- it's so incredibly fun to watch tWitch watch the hip hop dancers! They are bringing it this episode. Detroit hip roll?

tWitch- detroit hip roll.

Garret Frye- panic turned hip hop? "The guy that's dancing crazy in the corner at a wedding" -Mary's perfect description

Tyrone Cobham, Jr.- I think tap get's lost among the noise too often. He was really good!

Darryl "Smilez" Harrell- "Is he kicking" "No I'm krumping"...haha definately would be quite the character to have on the show, and he has the dance moves to back it up.

DeFonte "Prince Charming" Thomas-haha I think it's the best when hip hop dancers "mock" other styles during their performance.

SYTYCD10 Auditions LA May 14, 2013

EEEEEEEEk, this just may very well be one of my favorite nights of the year: DANCE NIGHT! Which is actually what makes summer feel like summer to me! I know I'm a little late to the game here, but I had a work dinner that night, and all I've been hearing about is the "knee." Don't know what that means, but I'm kinda scared!

LOVE the intro with the all-stars talking about what it feels like to audition for So You Think..

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is guest judge, and I'm pumped because as you learned last years he's one (ok my most) favorite guest judge! If I ever get the nerve to audition, can JTF please be the guest judge?

Du-Shaunt "Fik-Shun" starts us off, and he has so much creativity and uniqueness it's refreshing. No words just Mary screams.

Speaking of Mary, she just started following me on twitter, which I'm SUPER pumped about!!!

Malece Miller- kinda cringed at the deaf joke. I can only imagine what people are feeling that have that close to them.  I know it was meant as a joke, but it was sadly a poor choice. Although her jokes may be lacking, her dancing makes up for it tenfold.  She was FANTASTIC!
Hahaha, Jtf:"You're like a little doll, I love looking at you. Is that weird?"

(can't find a insertable video as of yet)

Paul Karmiryan- Armenian SYTYCD winner. Quite the stage presence, he oozes confidence, HOWEVER as a winner of the show I expected him to bring something more of a wow factor. Like, I don't know that he would tie in something he learned from the show rather than just the stature.  I think his confidence will take him far though, and he definitely has a leg up on the other dancers.  He's probably gonna set the bar for how hard everyone else will have to work.

Elijah Laurant- please don't invite me in. Don't want to come there.  Evil is not someplace I want to be.  Dance can speak for it self. You shouldn't "have to" let something possess you to be a good performer.  Sad.  I know Nigel liked it, but he put me off right from the interview.

Taylor Ward...ugh that knee! I get it guys, I get in now.  My heart is kind of broken for her-that this would happen right in the middle of something like this. I'm impressed by how it looks like she changed things around to the other leg so quickly.  Her dancing was beautiful.  She's my favorite so far.  As to her resilience with the knee, it could be something that would take her all the way through the show.  It's dance boot camp, she can make it through.  I wish they would have sent her right through to Vegas.

Eric and  Lorenzo Chapman- Their musicality is excellent! I really liked them!

Third times a charm? #AugustinApril

April rolled around, and the All the People tour rolled through town!  Okay, not exactly through town but a close enough town to justify going to the show. Also, the show was on my last day of vacation, which basically made it the best vacation ever. This time Chris August was the only person on the tour I really was familiar with.  I had never heard of Bellarive, and knew of Matt Maher but had never really listened to his music.

So the doors open at 6, and we literally pull into a parking spot exactly at 6. However, they aren't opening the doors, it's super windy out, there aren't too many people, and it was a long drive so we just chill in the car for a while. The doors open, we scoot through the side door and are waiting in the lobby area for the main doors to open.  I take a trip to the ladies room and when I find my way back to my spot in line...who is standing there but Mr. August himself.  So I grab the back of his shoulders and he turns around and chit chats with me till the door opens :).

We end up 3rd row center, which makes me a pretty happy girl. And everyone in my row snuck in french fries? Yup...you read that right, and I am just as confused.  Chris sits in the front row and chit chats with a girl that brought him cup cakes and the ladies behind me don't believe it's him because in his promotional picture he doesn't have a beard. Really?

First onstage is Bellarive, who I'm pretty sure most of the audience had never heard of. They are awesome, and if you are in the same boat as I was and have never heard them take a listen.  A little Bellarive on youtube SUPER good live, and really fantastic worship!

Also Bellarive hand stamped paper bags as their cd packaging and sealed it with wax, pretty much the coolest cd packaging ever. I would show you a picture but I'm having a hard time putting it up here...

Then to my great pleasure Chris August takes the stage.  As usual, everyone sits down between sets, and Matt Maher tells everyone to stand back up, which I love him for doing! Chris did his magic trick again and this time I was prepared:

Ya know, the Matt Maher comes on, and I really enjoyed him   I had never really listened to Matt Maher before, but his music was great and he put on a good show.  I loved the story about his song "My Only Love." At one point he had some of Bellarive come out to join him for a few songs and the fire alarm went off. I was SUPER impressed by how well Bellarive handled the situation.

The show is over and everyone is standing and chanting "One more song" which in my experience doesn't typically happen at Christian concerts, but he came back out and had Chris come back out to sing Starry Night.
Then everyone is back out onstage singing together and it is fantastic!

Sometimes when CA plays keys he thinks he's Stevie Wonder ;)

So the show is over and I camp myself at Chris's table. After some time he heads over and one lady jumps in front of me, but honestly I would wait till everyone else talked to him so that I didn't have limited time :). Then a group of preteens try to jump in (which like I said I'm fine with) but he tells them it will be a sec and turns to me and says "Tabitha we need a picture"
So that happens
I wanted to take another picture, and he said he "really really liked" the first one.

We chat for a bit and he tells me that next show I get to pick any song and he'll sing it.  :)!!!  My sister tried to get him to "duck face" with her and this happened:
We say goodbye and he says "Tabitha wait I need a hug" so we hug and he says "I'll see you in June."

Then we just kinda wander around and take some pics with some of Bellarive
She is really impressive at remembering names

This is a duck face compromise

,,,
Look who got someone to duck face.

Well that's all I got till next time.
